New Security System

In Feb of 2019 I replaced the old system with a new Honeywell Ademco Vista 21ip controller, new 6160RF keypad, TUXWIFIW Touch keypad, and two 5834-4 Fobs.   I still use the old all the door/window switches, GE AR435 motion detector, and System Sensor 2100AT Smoke Detector.   I have replaced the heat sensor and the fobs.   The new 6160RF keypad replaces the 6160v keypad, the 5800TM wireless transimitter, and the 5882-4 wireless receiver.   The TUXWIFI TOUCH Keypad allows me to monitor and control the system remotely, via internet, I only need to set up an encrypted tunnel each time I access it or set up apache2 as a proxy.   Supposedly the Vista 21ip will also let me control the system remotely but you have to use Honeywell's AlarmNet.   I had to run a couple of cat 5s from the office to the control panel, and Tux, and a new 4 conductor cable from the tux to the control panel, other than that I used the existing wiring (all the door switches still work great).   The Vista 21ip aux current handles all the stuff great with extra current to spare.

Actually this new system is less complicated, hardware wise, than the old system, however the programming is a little more complex, but not too bad.   I pulled all the programming from the old Ademco P20 (the real name of the SafeWatch Pro 3000) and adusted the Vista 21ip's programming.
I called Watchlight 02/22/19, tested the system, and all worked great, the system is alive and ready to guard our house!   I'm working on using a Vista 21ip trigger to trigger the swan NVR to email the video of you, at the door, to google when the alarm is set off so no matter what you do, we'll have proof of who did it.

TUXWIFIW installed and alive.   Note the system is "Ready to Arm", I had to let the motion detector time out before taking the pic.

Screen shot of Firefox logged into TUXWIFIW.   I can get this from anywhere in the world, I just set up and encrypted tunnel (or make apache2 proxy it) and away I go.   Note the system is still "Ready to Arm".

GE AR435 working, the yellow led means It sees me but not a violation.   This thing is 16 years old but it works great and no false alarms.

The 6160RF also "Ready to Arm".

New Vista 21ip control panel connected, on line, ready to arm.   It looks a little neater since there is only the control panel, no wireless receiver, transmitter, or relay expander.   The old panel was only screwed down (to studs) on one side, this one is anchored to studs on both sides (2-1/2" screws).

Vista 21ip, installed and alive, note the cat-5 plugged in upper left corner.   There is an extra 4 wire keypad cable (blue) on the left, a little smaller than the cat-5.

New cabinet anchored to studs, locked, and screwed shut.   Note no more antennas, the receiver is in the 6160RF.   By the time you can pry this thing open or rip it off the wall, it will have already "ratted you out".

One of the two new 5834-4 fobs, Betty's is exactly the same.   They are much smaller than the old fobs and can actually be put on a keyring, a fact that Betty is very happy about.   Our fobs work great.

New and old fobs.

New heat detector.   As I surveyed the old system, prior to buying the new system, I realized the heat detector didn't work, one of the terminal strips had been broken off (probably during an AC install) and the whole unit had been painted with heat reflective paint (Spray-on Radiant Barrier).   So I replace it along with the above mentioned elements.

Closer look at the new System Sensor 5602 heat sensor (Honeywell), mounted high in my attic just above the furnace.   It is clearly 194° Fixed Rate of Rise heat detector, same specs as the original (which is no longer available).
