Old Security System
|
Our original security system was installed, by ADT, in June of 2003, right after I bought the house.
It was an Ademco (Honeywell) Vista P20 with a wireless receiver, transmitter, a GE radar/infra red motion detector, a System Sensor smoke detector, a heat sensor, and a Ademco 6160V voice panel.
It originally had a large fob which actually talked telling us the status of the system (Armed Away or Disarmed).
I gave this one to Betty and had an additional fob installed (just a simple 4 button). It served us well for 16 years.
Pics of the original security system installed by ADT in June 2003.
Most of the system is Ademco owned by Honeywell.
The system controller is installed in an Ademco 12-1/2" X 14-1/2" X 3" metal cabinet with a key lock.

Firefox will squeeze the pic to fit the page, so click again to get the expanded pic.
This system was replaced in February of 2019.
Note the last Fob pic shows the newer fobs and the old fobs.

More info inside the lid, you can see the 7 zones, and installation date.

KeyPad

Current Keypad
Keypad inside it says its a 6160V, but it doesn't look like the modern 6160Vs.

SmokeDetector
|
Inside: says it's System Sensor 2100AT.
|
|
2100AT smoke detector, there is also a heat detector mounted in the attic above the furnace.
Note the 2K resistor across the leads..
|
|
Heat sensor, in attic above furnace.
The silver stuff is radiant barrier sprayed on, it does help with solar heating.
When I took this down to check it, the back says "Do Not Paint", so I'm replacing it.
|
|
Back of heat sensor with cover removed
It has two wires in and two more out (I assume to the smoke detector).
Note the terminal with the red wires is broken loose from the sensor's base, hence, heat detection is Kaput.
Even more reason to replace it.
It appears this is in parallel with the smoke detector.
|
|
Closer pic of heat sensor.
It is a fixed temp heat sensor by Firelite/Notifier Northford.
It speaks of "RATE OF RISE AND 200° F (94° C)".
Apparently this one is supposed to alarm at 200°.
|
Motion Detector
|
GE AR435 motion Detector, PIR (Passive Infra Red).
This Sentrol Radar/PIR supposedly uses both Adaptive Radar and Infra Red detection.
NOTE: This thing has never given us a false alarm!!!

Fobs
|
Our old security fobs, the original on the right and the simpler one on the left.
You can see the labels are either gone or the legend rubbed off except one on Betty's conrol.
The label still intact would open the garage door, we didn't use that much.
|
|
Backside of both fobs, click and click to get HD pic.
You can see the types on both and instructions on the larger fob.
The larger fob is a type 5804BDE/BDV, the smaller is a type 5804 (looks like 58C4).
I've noticed that the older Ademco stuff has the same numbers as some of the newer devices but look a lot different.

|
New system fobs and older fobs.
Betty will actually be able to keep this on her keychain making it much easier to find.
