Work Surface Extension

While designing the Prototyping Bench it ocurred to me that I needed a little more work surface but I needed this thing small when stored.   So I started thinking about a drop leaf support when I discovered the folding shelf support.   The folding shelf support takes up less space than a drop leaf support and doesn't require seperate hinges.   This is what I came up with: It'll add about 1-3/4" width to the ProtoBench cabinet and be mounted flush with the extended worktop.

When down, the WSE (Work Surface Extension) will be folded against the cabinet in the lower half.   To open the WSE, bring the WSE up until the folding shelf support latches.   The extension surface's top should be flush with the ProtoBench's work top surface.

Bottom, I had to trim the stiffeners to just under the height of the folding shelf brackets (7/8").
