OverArm Dust Collector UNDER CONSTRUCTION

My Jet Xacta 10" throws a lot of chips on me from the blade guard on the table top.   I am thinking about an Overarm dust hood of some kind.  
Problem: With Overarm dust hoods can't cut very thin strips because the blade must be very close to the fence, so you must remove the fence to make thin cuts.   Make hood thin & use special dust nipple (below).
Problem: dust hood is usually the same width or wider than the dust hose.   Could build a nipple that converts from round area=x, to rectangular area=x.
Problem: OverArm dust hoods how to make it ride up over the work piece without having a large vacuum hole.   Could have a ramp front or wheels in front.   Wheels would need to be twice the diameter of thickest wood in order to ride over it.  

One consideration about an Overarm Dc is how to get it to ride over the workpiece?   Sloping front, wheels?   Wheels would need to be large (> 3"), that could be a problem!
