Clean Out Box

I decided to make a neater clean out box for below the filter (old Jet Dc-1100 seperator).   I liked the looks of the ClearView clean out boxes so here I go.   The box will be circular, 3/4" plywood top and bottom, with acrylic sides.   It'll need a wooden support in the back (about 2" wide) and a 6" wide wooden section in front with a 4" round hole (PVC) in the front and a cap.

I thought the clean out box on the Clear View cyclones with clear sides was neat.   The box will consist of two 3/4" plywood disks, 16" in diameter.   The shape matches the filter and also allows for easily shaped clear acrylic sides.   After checking my supply of plywood, I have 16" wide pieces so the box top and bottom will be 16" diameter circles. I bought a piece of 30" X 36" X .088 acrylic sheet from Lowes ($27.48).   The top and bottom will have a 1/8" groove 1" from the edge for the acrylic sides.   There will be a 6" wide X 6" high front panel with a 4-1/2" hole for the 4" PCV tube (and cap) for cleanout access and a 4" wide rear support.   Both the front panel and rear support will have a 1/8" groove on each side.   The top will have a 9" hole in the center to match up with the bottom of the filter and hole in the filter support shelf.

One of the top or bottom disks with it's groove.   The offset drawn circle will be the hole that fits the filter's shelf.

Close look at the edge of one of the disks, you can see the groove for the acrylic sides.

One piece of acrylic sawed tofit a clean out box side.   You can also see the side of one of the disks with it's groove.

One of the acrylic sides clamped in the vise before I heated and bent it.

Gluing both side to one of the disks.   I'm using Gorilla Glue (polyurethane glue).

The clamps hold the acrylic sides and support boards to the bottom disk.
