I had never eaten any Gingerbread, so Betty got busy, trying different recipes, until she found a good one.   This is the result.

Ingredients
Qty. Meas. Descr.
1 Lb Dark brown sugar
2 C Flour, sifted
1-1/2 Sticks Butter
1/2 Tsp Ginger
2 Tsp Cinnamon
12 Tsp Nutmeg
1Tsp Soda
2 Eggs
1 C Buttermilk
Directions
Cut sugar, flour, and margarine together with pastry blender.
Set aside 1 Cup of this mixture for topping
Add other ingerdiets and mix until well blended.
Pour into greased 9 X 13 pan; sprinkle with topping,
Bake @ 350 ° for 40 - 45 mins.
